Shadab Khan

Former member (2016-2018)

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Shadab Khan is Head of AI and Applied Sciences at Group 42 Healthcare in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He was a Research Scientist at Inception Institute of Artificial Intelligence.  From September 2016 to November 2018, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at IMAGINE, where he developed computational tools to use Diffusion-Weighted MR Imaging (DWI) to study in utero fetal brain development. The overall project has several computational challenges such as motion-correction of T2 and DWI data, super-resolution volume reconstruction, diffusion tensor atlas computation from motion-corrupted DWI, and group comparison study in fetuses using DWI. Shadab also developed Deep Learning tools for these projects. Prior to starting his postdoctoral fellowship, Shadab obtained PhD in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College where he developed an Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) machine to study differences in electrical properties of benign versus prostatic adenocarcinoma. He received a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, India. His non-academic interests include photography, hiking, and reading nonfiction.
